Can ant spray be harmful to snakes? My partner text me while im at work saying she's sprayed it in the same room as Marty as there were ants coming in through vent in wall. im not happy with her to say the least and if he gets ill I'll be poisoning her dinner

Whew i'm glad he's safe, I tried to keep it from my reply, but I was fearing the worst as those sprays can and often are lethal to pets.

Still, all is well thankfully, and its highly unlikely to ever happen again. Looking lovely in that photo :)

Is Monty ok?
I hope he is.

Is it an indoor ant spray?
If you bought the can, did it say 'children and pet safe?

I don't think snakes are as susceptible to chemical sprays as birds are, but I hope he's ok Carl.

I'd imagine that unless she's sprayed a large amount it shouldn't harm him. There's been one occasion when me and my girlfriend was getting ready to go out and without realising we was spraying hairspray perfume deodorant and after shave. As soon as we realised we opened to windows. Luckily nothing came of it. Ant spray may be slightly worse. But like I said, I think it would have to be a lot. Goes without saying to check on him as soon as you get in.

Yeah its a fairly big room that he's in but the area she sprayed will only be about 1 to 2 meters away from his viv

Oh I see. Is he in a big room? Will the door be open?
carlb1981 Posted - 14/06/2012 : 12:53:13
No she was already at work when she told me i hope he is ok

Yea I back up what janie said. Wouldn't your partner mover him into another room for you? If not just open all the windows in the room. I'm sure it will be ok though buddy
