Posted - 18/06/2012 : 17:31:56 I cant believe that I am suddenly so in to snakes! I would never have thought that I would even hold one let alone have one! It all started when i was 'forced' into looking after Sas. I fell in love with him and ended up keeping him. Son purchased a new one (Boris the Pastel) last week and now im looking after him. I spend ages on here reading all the posts and learning all I can about my slithery babies. I also regularly google them and find out what's for sale etc and looking at pics of them. I've always got one of them out and every time I go shopping Im on the lookout for things for their vivs. 'stands up' my name is Sue and Im addicted to Royals! |

Posted - 20/06/2012 : 12:59:58 Sas and Boris are so different. Sas comes out for cuddles and gets himself comfy and goes to sleep. Boris comes out and doesnt want to stay in one place!I think he is just a nosy bugger and wants to explore everything!Trouble is he is much bigger and heavier than Sas so he makes my arms ache! Bless! |

Posted - 20/06/2012 : 11:18:13 Oh aye, got my first snake when I was about 14, sold it after a few months because it didn't do anything :P then when I hit 21 and calmed down a bit I started to get the urge to buy one again, got my first royal on my 21st birthday and been hooked since then, now I have 9 royals and 2 boa's and love them all :) |

Snakes are just great pets, they are cheap to "run", hopefully live a long time and are just fascinating and very calming |

Posted - 19/06/2012 : 23:43:41 I have the same problem...I have kept various exoticss for about 8 years, including a kingsnake, Cresties, Beardies, and frogs. Now exactly 6 months after buying my first, I have 13 Royals, a breeding rack, a juvie rack, 2 Vivs, and BIG plans for the coming breeding season. It is an addiction, FOR SURE. And I would rather spend my money on a lovely morph than any think I could smoke or drink.
PS my best friend is a Psychiatrist and assures me we are NOT mentally ill :D |

Posted - 19/06/2012 : 18:03:32 its certainly an addiction ive wanted a snake since i was about 10 years old and its took 6 years of not been at my parents to actually get around to getting one and now i have 2 within a month lol planning on putting my snake rack together next month ready for more royal morphs got my eye on 2 i may put a deposit on, my partner must be sick of being dragged around all the rep shops within a 20mile radius of me every weekend lol my little boy loves the beardies so maybe try talking her into some of them :-) |

Posted - 18/06/2012 : 18:35:12 Yep almost 2 years ago I thought it would be really brilliant to own a snake, I had been fascinated for many many many years. spent a bit of time window shopping the reptile shop then decided I needed to actually look into actually having one. I now have 4 with future plans for a 5th, it spreads too, not just snakes but lizards, tarantulas, scorpions!
Oops almost forgot; FROGS and snails too! |
