OK, so Monty's still not feeding, I've tried assisted, but he just spits it out!


Solution (hopefully): Today I've bought a complete new set-up. 3ft viv (he was in a 31/2) and ceramic heating (as opposed to heat mat and basking lamp).

If this doesn't work I'm going to give myself a heart attack with worry, he's only eaten twice since November :-(

If you have a basking lamp then this may well be the reason he's not eating. Sorry, I don't know your full story with your Monty, so you may already know this. In which case ignore me. But Royals don't like light. They hide from it if anything. So the basking light will be upsetting him. You say your going to buy him a ceramic bulb and I'd say that was a good idea. That's what I used with my Tig and what most people use too. But make sure you get a bulb guard for it as well! And a stat to keep the heat right.
