this could possibly be the dumbest question ever but what snake actually gives birth to their young? just i always thought reptiles laid eggs and mammals gave birth with the exception of those weird critters down under the platapus and spiny ant eater but i saw a photo of what looked like a snake giving birth to baby snakes covered in afterbirth

garters are also livebearing, i think , there is a few livebearing snakes around

Boa constrictors live birth, well to an extent, they still have eggs but the eggs hatch inside them.
