Well first visit to vets today and both snakes had injections and back on Friday, just need to get myself a nebuliser and some f10 to use alongside the antibiotics hope all goes well :-(

Yeah never actually thought about that thanks for the reminder, the little spider has went into blue bloody typical

Personally I'd be inclined to leave the feed until after the vets as the Tuesday trip may be a bit soon after a feed. May regurge.
carlb1981 Posted - 27/01/2013 : 11:47:05
Should i try a feed with them? Or just leave it till after vets on Tuesday?
jbarlow91 Posted - 21/01/2013 : 20:15:45
I'd guess they would if its the two you got from there and none of the others have got it
carlb1981 Posted - 21/01/2013 : 17:51:54
I've had them just over 3 weeks now though so don't know if they had it already when i bought them
jbarlow91 Posted - 21/01/2013 : 17:17:16
That's bad I'd definately complain to the shop tho it is out of order selling them if they are ill
carlb1981 Posted - 21/01/2013 : 00:07:36
Well after quarantining the pastel i checked over my other snakes and it looks as though my other pick up from rep room(bhb) has an ri too its not as bad as the pastel but the little spider is clicking when breathing and when i checked her gums it looks like bubbling saliva too so that's 2 snakes I'll be treating now :-( hope it hasn't gone too far as i haven't handled them that much apart from cleaning so never noticed any early symptoms. im kicking myself now for not handling and checking them over more but i thought since they came across the pond i should let them settle longer than my other snakes had when i got them
carlb1981 Posted - 20/01/2013 : 19:24:33
Yes i use an oil filled rad the room is kept at 25c
Baobab Posted - 20/01/2013 : 18:59:55
The f10 in the nebuliser is what BHB do with RI's. However, better to use the funds for the vets, as you say.
reptiledanny Posted - 20/01/2013 : 18:56:28
sorry to hear hes got an RI
i see you said hes in a rack, do you have any heaters in your room to keep the ambient temperatures up??
carlb1981 Posted - 20/01/2013 : 18:38:15
Thanks guys I've moved his rub out of the rack and put him on a mat stat which isn't the best fir stable temps but i don't have a spare pulse stat so hope its ok also put a damp cloth in warm end to raise humidity a bit is there anything else i should do? He's due a feed tomorrow night so is it best to not feed him for now?
jbarlow91 Posted - 20/01/2013 : 17:19:15

carlb1981 Posted - 20/01/2013 : 17:04:10

Evolution Morphs Posted - 20/01/2013 : 17:01:20
Oh dear
There no doubt then :(

Good luck and keep us posted
I hope he makes a speedy recovery
carlb1981 Posted - 20/01/2013 : 16:28:48
The snake is actually an import from bhb too its not shed or anything he's got bubbles and saliva around his mouth :-(
Evolution Morphs Posted - 20/01/2013 : 15:34:57
I'd say it don't just come on that quick
You see the place you got your royal from gets
Quite a lot of imports in
First thing is to help the poor thing
I'd be inclined to ring the shop and see what they have to say about it
See if they will help with cost ect.

I know this ain't been said BUT
And I'm sure you know

Has it just shed , going into shed, had a bad shed,
Could it be possible that it just came out of its water bowl

What are the signs
Clicking, saliva, whistling
carlb1981 Posted - 20/01/2013 : 15:25:42
I've seen the f10 and nebuliser method but haven't got access to one and i might need the £50 it would cost for one for vet treatment if i need it. The vics and eucalyptus oil method above is the one Im using but it didn't have as much info in the one i found so thanks for that link del.

Could the ri have been present when i got the snake 3 weeks ago?
Evolution Morphs Posted - 20/01/2013 : 15:06:58
Sorry to hear :(

This may be of help
http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/forums/snakes/400758-alternative-r-i-treatment.html

But will be as you say best to get it to a reptile vet so they can help with some
Antibiotics
