Poor little guy, that sounds like one really bad RI I've had one before that was relatively easy to treat but that sounds scary!

Oh that sucks I hope the little fella gets well soon, sounds like he's in good hands

The swop I sent to the lab gets tested and the what ever antibiotics works on it thats what they will ask my vet to give me, for the snake

I hope in time a more uniform method of treating RI becomes common practice, you hear of so many different ways each vet attacks the problem. I suppose as the hobby becomes more widespread more research and studies will be done, papers wrote etc and things will become easier.

Keep us posted on this ones progress and fingers crossed a well snake is just around the corner

Every time you nebulize them with f10 it brings loads of saliva up into the mouth so f10 on cotton bud sticks just to remove the gunk.

ah right. ask them about trying batril next as that's the main treatment for RI's, im assuming he has some mouth rot(stomatitis)? what are you cleaning his mouth with?

Yeh phoned him 3 days after got snake home, all I got was told was it was fine with him, but as vet said theres no way he got that bad so quickly, got to send swob off on Monday.
Its hard buying a snake off someone you dont know, went to his house to collect it, all looked fine, but have learnt now from vets that if you drop temp on them it covers the signs untill they are warmed up again, not say they done that, but as they say infections of the respiritory system happens.
Beside that the snake is lovely, with all the injections and mouth cleaning and nebulisers he got to put up with havent go for me once.
But what I am paying on vet bills I could of bought him 3 times over,.

Poor fella, that's been going on for some time now. I'd follow the vets advice, they must think their is no immediate need to feed. Did you contact the seller as to become so sick didn't happen overnight.

Up date on R I, he have had 8 injections of phortume, 1 every 3days plus 3 nebulizer every day, but still no better, so now just sent off swob of Sylvia to lab, so they can run test and tell me the next step to take.
He have lost a bit of weight but I was advised not to feed him, but I might offer him a small mouse see what he does. He is only a late 2012 but he looks tiny for his age now.

Been to vet today, she specialise in reptiles, she also looks after bristol zoo reptiles.
Her plan of attack is nebuliser 4 times aday with f10 plus 1 warm bath aday and a injection every 3 days for 8 injections.
