Posted - 30/01/2014 : 08:14:57 Hi. As the title says this is my first royal. I have a corn no feeding issues etc. I bought my python from a petshop on the 20/01/14 he was fed that day. He's 3.5month old he weighed 205g but now 199g. Looking at the feeding chart I got with him. They got him on 05/01 he fed then he refused on 12/01 and 16/01. As above he was fed the day I got him. I tried him on the 26/01 and he refused. I'm unsure really of what to do? I've read they can go months sometimes without feeding. The petshop also said he will only eat mice. He's on mediums ATM.
Should I just keep trying him every 7days? Thanks |

Posted - 31/01/2014 : 18:28:33 Thanks for replies. The petshop said once they had to leave it in over night. So I might try that in a couple if days. Altho I noticed today his eyes are looking cloudy so hopefully he's goin to shed |

Posted - 30/01/2014 : 20:46:42 Welcome to the wonerfully frustrating world of royal pythons and their feeding habits ;)
Even when you think you've got it figured out, they throw you for a loop. Every time!
I found that a mixture of perseverance, forum guides (like the one Kelf has sticky'd on here somewhere) and plain old dumb luck usually sees you right in the end
Good job royals have cute faces, hey? |
