Posted - 17/05/2009 : 19:12:51 hi there, i have a 1 1/2 year old royal,but for the last 4 months he hasn't been eating.we have never had a problem before (haven't changed anything!!) the temps are fine and he has plenty of hides.he is however drinking.we have have tried braining the food,tried him on rat weeners and even tried going back to pinkies, but nothing seems to be working.Also he hasn't had a poo since last eating.Any ideas???? thanks for your time.... |

Posted - 18/05/2009 : 09:55:05 Thanks for your replies,i will chart his weight and see how we get on with that.I know they can be reluctant feeders sometimes but its always good to get a bit more advice. |

Posted - 17/05/2009 : 19:49:46 Weigh him again in a fortnight if he hasn't eaten, but at that weight he could go several months without any troubles.

Posted - 17/05/2009 : 19:39:40 just weighed him,he weighs 1 kg.he is alert and active,his last feed was a large weener at the begning of january.he doesn't look thin.thanks |

Its very common for Royals, particularly males not to feed during the breeding season (which is just coming to an end). |
