I have just given marley his weekly rat pup and he has started eating it from the tail upwards!!

He is currently constricting it and is getting nowhere with it.

What should I do!

Mine ate one rear first yesterday - he's fine, just takes a little longer than normal.

Feather tried eating one sideways the other day, she chomped at it for a good five minutes before dropping it and trying again head first.

as Matty says the food is young so the bones will be soft and do no harm...

royals like doing that sometimes...

just make sure the head end is the warmest and you should be ok,

but a rat pup is small so you will be fine..

Its fine, all 3 of mine eat from the tail now and again

ok thanks phew

I think he thought that it was attacking him because it was rough so he started squeezing it haha

Dont panic, he will be fine

It doesnt make much differance how they eat young roden prey. They have small limbs and no fur to tell them which side is the head.

Well he just swallowed it awkwardly and it took a while he seems fine but i just hope he can keep it down
