Heyy there, :)
My friend a while back had a beautiful Amazon Tree boa, who although was a bit aggro, was absolutely gorgeous...
One night he was fine and the next morning he was dead :(
On inspection of the viv I noticed bits of mould clinging to the corners...
With the amazon tree boa it needed very controlled humidity which must of spurred the mould growth.
He was regulary cleaned.
But our hunches about the mould were as suspected the culprits to his demise.
I know Ball Pythons do not require very high humidity (being from Africa an all)
But I would like to prevent this happening again,
Because I tend to spray my baby with a mist of water to help him shed his scales better...

Are there any suggestions?

Thank you...

Bear.

a damp hide limits the humidity to where its most useful........in the immediate vicinity of the snake

Agreed. A damp hide will limit the area of the viv exposed to high humidity.

Yes, don't spray.

Room humidity is fine for most and if you do have a problem shedder then you could offer a moist hide when the eyes clear.
