Posted - 16/12/2010 : 19:05:35 hey all
meds is doing fine, were up to 5 feeds in a row, 4 of which were clean and 1 triggered lots of strikes but a reluctance to strike and hold, i put this down to the mouse being from a new supplyer but she still ate it when i left it with her for 5 mins (took the dog up the garden and when i returned it was gone)
My only concern is that in all this time she hasnt poo'd, iv moved around all the vegetation and checked in hides but no sign of any business, she fed yesterday so tmrw i intend to empty the viv out, clean it all up and replace the substrate, hoping i will find something hidden but im doubting it. She doesnt seem to have any unusual lumps and is as active as ever though. |

Posted - 14/01/2011 : 19:36:01 You certainly will! Either white things like mint imperials or a flood which shows up as a brown stain if you use kitchen roll substrate.
I wish I'd thought to use aquarium sealant round the floors of my royals' vivs - another job to do in the coming year ... |

Umm... the Royal Wee, eh?
As has been said before - they're all different ...
Shahi, my cf10 male, rarely wees in between sheds, and performs lavishly (everything - he's a man lol) at the time of shed. (He did once leave a urate ball like an egg in his damp hide though.)
Saada, cf09, does everything when the fancy takes her, shed or not.
Surahi, cb06, I saw drinking, loads, a few days ago, and prudently put down wads of kitchen roll ... I wuz right! Niagara!!!
My conclusions from observing 3 royals ...they're all different ...
You know, I thought of buying puppy pads, but there are too many additives...someone invent snake pads, please ...

i think this is more likely to be wee, as royal poo tends to be every 6-8 weeks
royals wee depending on how much they dink, sometimes bullet will go once a week, sometimes once every 2 weeks, whereas bow tends to be every 2 weeks you will be able to tell the dif as the wee is the white ball, and the poo is the huge smelly brown stuff |

Posted - 17/12/2010 : 11:28:32 Mine goes about every eight weeks, longer when she's off her food. There's no mistaking it when she does though, it's bigger than the cat's! |

Posted - 16/12/2010 : 19:36:53 Dont worry, one of mine went over 3 months before. generally you can guess that they will always go after shedding, |

Posted - 16/12/2010 : 19:14:15 ty gmac, puts my mind to rest anway, the fact she seems to be active and healthy allowed me to be not to worried, but its been playing away in mind :)
ill prepare myself for a larger deposit then, last time she poo'd was just before we got her and apparantly she made a huge amount but it was all contained in her shed, fingers crossed she's a shed pooper will certainly make for an easyer clean up :) |

Posted - 16/12/2010 : 19:09:05 royals can go quite some time without pooing, mine generally wait 5-6 weeks or so before leaving me a massive cleanout. |
