Glad to report, after a few weeks of moving from rubbish fish tank to RUBbish RUB, I now have success.

Percy refused one feed in his nasty tank, ate a 'left to rot' mouse within minutes in his RUB after refusing a dangler.

Then he was moved to a much larger Viv, and I barely saw him. (Refrained from handling so he could settle).

Was just checking temps (hourly obsession) this evening, and found the little bugger up and about chilling on his hot end bunker.

Quickly defrosted a small mouse and laid it out for him. He struck ( at heat) and missed the mouse, so I picked it up in the tongs and before I'd choreographed a half decent dance routine he'd struck and had Mickey in his mouth. Left him to it, and locked and lefted.

Result! Patience is a virtue.

Yes indeedy!

He seems pretty settled now in his new viv. Worth all the effort and expense in the end!

Quite humbling to watch the speed with which he struck, makes me respect his hunting powers now (and keep my thumbs tucked in when handling lol).

Isn't it a great feeling to know you're doing something right by him?

I love that feeling... especially when I figure out what this particular snake prefers!

When he's eaten his bumper bag of small mice, of course! Only 20 odd to go...
