Florence is still hormonal, she rampages through her viv every night, looking for love! This has gone on for quite a few weeks now although she is now less active in the day (bloody worn out i reckon). The latest change in her activity is the sudden nesting habit, she is burrowing under her water dish, so I'm thinking this is maybe the last phase in her breading cycle?

So...how long is this going to go on for? should i check for unfertilized eggs in her? (My friend with corns has this problem every year)Is there anything i can do to make her happier apart from fulfill her mating ambition!

Poor wee girl, i feel so sorry for her!
The good news is she ate a mouse last week after 4 weeks of fasting but still wont entertain a rat despite her previous apetite for them.

LOL - yes I get there in the end ...

In Flo's present mood she probably IS in shock ...anything phallic lol ...

Wouldn't unfertilised eggs present themselves after a phantom pregnancy? So they might not be evident just yet? All this is very useful to know, and it's interesting about the reabsorption - some mammals, such as cats, can do this. I once had a Siamese who, for hormonal reasons it was thought, did just that, poor girl, and gave birth to foetuses.

Hope Flo calms down now - perhaps Boris gave her a fright!

Doh! Bats you were a bit slow but funny as f****!
Well my friend with her corns said she can feel the eggs in the belly but they dont get laid, they normaly just get re-absorbed into the body again! This is aparently commonplace!

Had a little feel of flo last night and she doesnt feel lumpy so dont think its an issue!

So, got boris out tonight so flo is sulking but not as rampant as she has been, maybe the mood is changing....or she saw boris and is in shock!

Uh oh, just had a quick google re this - apparently someone's gopher snake laid a clutch of unfertilised slugs and was incubating them ...trust a gopher!

Has anyone known royals to do it? Omg I have 9 definitely female snakes ...we ARE going to have fun ...

On the other hand, might not be such a good idea ...

I've heard about corns producing unfertilised eggs ... I imagine this would be pretty obvious, but if they do, what do you do ...??

She really should come spend some time with Duke, he is exactly the same, off his food, strutting round the viv day and night, rapping on the glass to get out. I'm thinking of buying him a draught excluder, throwing it in his viv letting him have some fun, the dog has a cushion so its only fair.
