Posted - 28/11/2011 : 19:51:36 Ok for the last few times of handlng I've heard Merlin make a clicky noise so asked my reptile supplier today and he thinks he may possibly have a RI and suggested I put him in a rub rather than faun, put him on paper rather than bark or the sawdustie stuff loool and to remove his water and just offer him it every day for 10 mins or so which i've done. If no improvment then i'll look into antibiotics. Although looking at the sticky thread it maybe because he is due a shed because other than the click he seems perfectly healthy, eating and drinking fine and looks perfect but he must be due a shed as I've had him well over a month now and he's grown so much in that time. Anyway my other question is, can they catch colds etc from humans??? thanks for reading |

Posted - 28/11/2011 : 23:34:36 raise the temps a degree or 2 for a few days and raise the humidity temporarily, I suggest moving the water dish closer to the hot end. This will help make the mucous a tad more runny and easier to drain. |

Do you know how to inspect the mouth? (ie safely open the snakes mouth and have a look inside). |

Posted - 28/11/2011 : 20:41:12 could just be coming into shed so removing the water bowl is not a good idea as they will bathe in it. put the water back in an possibly a damp hide, give it a few days an see if he goes into blue if he does then put the bowl on the hot side an mist the rub a couple of times a day, if not then as the sticky says up the temps a couple of degrees an mist the viv a few times a day to up the humidity and go from there |
