I'm just wondering if snakes can get constipation as monty refused again last night but he keeps leaving little poos and after photos i've seen on here i was wondering if maybe he's still digesting or just uncomfortable as he poos maybe once a week but not eating in four weeks now, any advice welcome as he seems really interesting in his food he just won't take it

They'll play ratty football even if they don't intend to eat - that little one eyed corn of mine is fasting now and she (he???) will boot the mouse from one end of the viv to another for hours and still not eat. Mating season eh?

Hi, Scorpio - if he keeps making a mess then he's not constipated to my mind - I sometimes find small occasional ones and urates from mine, as opposed to the grand log lol so I wouldn't feel too concerned unless they were very sloppy and very smelly. That might call for a faecal sample check by a vet.

As for the fast, that's what they're most of them doing now, and he's adult, isn't he? I would keep on offering every 10 days to a fortnight, but don't worry if he doesn't take - they can go on like this for months and it's normal for royals.
