Posted - 03/03/2012 : 18:48:04 Hi guys, I returned home to find Kairo my baby royal wheezing, i took him out for a look and as i did he was either being hissy or breathing heavy (and so wheezing harder).
Aside from the wheezing there are no other symptoms of RI, hes not snotty (so to speak), his mouth is closed, head down not raised.
His water bowl is in a different place everytime i check on him so it is possible that he has been playing in his water (infact his body was in the water when i got him out) and he may be coming close to shed
my question is: how can I better tell if its an ri before resorting to the vet? |

Posted - 05/03/2012 : 10:02:09 I had this a bit back with one of my snakes and worried it was an RI,although he was acting normally and feeding. He was coming up to shed and it stopped once he'd shed. Fingers crossed thats all it is for you. |

If a shed is on the way, there is no signs of RI other than heavy breathing I would just keep an eye on him for a few days, see if it was a one off.
