The vet checked his mouth and airway, and ruled out RI..cleared his head, nose and mouth also eye caps but he is still gaping. The only area he didn't do was his chin..could that be the cause?

I have never seen Fea yawn, but Slinky does occassionally and he looks so cute when he does :)

Ra seems content, he moves around from cool to warm end, i'll stop fussing when he takes a mouse lol

Yeah they yawn, its probably still a bit uncomfortable and tight around the head even now the old skin is off it got stuck so will have been pulling on the new skin. Either that or Ra is just Rahhhh'ing and hasn't realised he isn't a lion and his Rahhhh's are silent. Either that or he is bored of been asked if he is OK. TEEHEE

Gaping is sitting with their mouth open because they can't breathe through their nostrils, not yawning, it may just be something he does, a character trait, my Boa yawns all the time, in fact come to think of it Duke yawns too, I've not seen Hal do it yet and I dont think Spot does it too often or he is a shy yawner.

He's only just back from the vet's - will do him no harm to wait till Sunday at his age. Hopefully he'll be chilled and peckish by then.

Thanks Bats,

I wouldn't worry so if Steve was back from the rig, still he's back next Weds :)
I'm going to try a mouse tomorrow or wait until Sunday?

I've seen my carpet yawn like that - and honestly I would NOT like to meet a more vigorous snake. Just had her out for outdoor walkies tonight but daren't let her explore, what a handful, and has never missed a meal.

So fingers crossed, now the vet's sorted Ra's shed out, he goes from strength to strength.

Kinda yawn like cept he holds it open for a few seconds everytime, and he does it repeatedly for a couple of mins.

*pouts* and I am behaving..honest I am

Behave yourself, there is nothing wrong with that snakey.

When you say gaping, do you mean sitting there mouth open breathing or do you mean opening up yawn like, stretch and close?
