As some of you know I have just got a big female who is ment to already have locked with a pinstripe. Not sure how TRUE this is but have no reason to doubt the bloke.

Obviously I don't wanna put my male in straight away, and I was going to follow one of the guides on here reduce temps in Oct introduce male in November. Should I bring this forward due to the possibility that she is already horny.

I'm very unsure on the best way to play it from here, some parts of me say stick to original plan, other parts are to bring it forward

Ok thanks for that

Alot of people don't
And some do
It's down to what you want to do
Dropping the temp runs the risk of an RI
I don't want to put you off dropping the temp just want to make you aware
I didn't last year and got 7 eggs I won't be dropping temps this year again just letting the ambient drop naturally

Ok so leave em be, would you be reducing night time temps or shall I leave be

Yeah sorry Dan I completely forgot about quarantine ignore what I said lol.

unless you can palpate for follicle (i cant) its just a guessing game when to introduce the males
id want to quarantine her first before id risk my male
there's no rush chances are the pin may have done its job
just keep an eye on her seeking the cool end , bowl wrapping , laying on her side

again this is just what i would do
other may do different

good luck with your breeding ;)

Hi Dan congrats on the new purchase, I'm no expert but if she has been locked and it's taken the longer you leave it the more chance pairing her with your male may not make any difference in terms of what she produces, but since in the wild they would travel to seek out a partner, then you could use the move to your advantage and put him in with her fairly quick.
