I'm starting to think I will never get baby royals :(

Been breeding my two royals since the beginning of October and since about a montb ago I've had no more locks. And there's been no sign of ovulation.. Except sometimes my girl will lay a certain way and she looks lumpy and her colours have got dostintovely lighter.

In the whole time I've been breeding them I think there's been about 6-8 definite locks.

Have my royals just gone off eachother and not going to give me any babies??

Likewise :) just hoping we don't have any power cuts at least not when I'm not here ! I can't wait to see them pip and see what I have in the way of morphs, so long as they hatch and are healthy that's all that matters :)
JodiT Posted - 24/04/2013 : 15:10:32
Thanks! I'm so excited for them to hatch :)
Robert Posted - 24/04/2013 : 12:39:38
Congrats on the eggs - now the long wait :) Still waiting for my lemon to lay :)
JodiT Posted - 21/04/2013 : 15:43:18
Okay I'll try that. Thing is before I put the eggs in I was getting 94%-96% humidity.. And now it's dropped after I've put the eggs in
Evolution Morphs Posted - 21/04/2013 : 15:31:50
maybe try adding a cup/tub of water in the incubator

post a pictures of it
JodiT Posted - 21/04/2013 : 15:30:48
It's digital.. I don't know either I can't work out what I've done wrong
Evolution Morphs Posted - 21/04/2013 : 15:25:57
are you using a analogue hygro or digital ??/

i cant understand why its low
JodiT Posted - 21/04/2013 : 15:22:33
Yeah I've done equal but the eggs are directly on the vermiculite
Evolution Morphs Posted - 21/04/2013 : 15:16:26
how much water to vermiculite did you do ?

i normal do
weight to weight
300 grams water to 300grams vermiculite
but i use egg crate so the eggs don't come in contact with the vermiculite
JodiT Posted - 21/04/2013 : 15:13:20
Nope got no holes in the tub.. Only to put the thermostat and hydrometer in but I've taped the holes up where they go in
Evolution Morphs Posted - 21/04/2013 : 13:13:49
Have you got any holes in the tub ?
If so it don't need them
Prob just me but a air the eggs every Sunday very quickly to exchanged the air
JodiT Posted - 21/04/2013 : 10:41:16
Humidity is now at 87% and not rising at all.. I've made sure the vermiculite has the right amount of water and I've put cling film over the top of the tub before putting the lid on but it's still not rising. Temp inside the tub is currently 30.8C
JodiT Posted - 20/04/2013 : 21:25:45
Got five healthy looking eggs :) although now my girl looks skinny :( and seems to be looking for her eggs.. But ehen I took her off of them she was very well behaved didn't get aggressive at all
Kelfezond Posted - 20/04/2013 : 20:23:44
How many did you get in the end? :)
Evolution Morphs Posted - 20/04/2013 : 19:21:36
Should be fine at that humidity
Just keep an eye on them drying
JodiT Posted - 20/04/2013 : 18:59:46
It's 31C inside the tub now but only 94% humidity... Will I have problems if I can't get the humidity to 99%+ ?
Evolution Morphs Posted - 20/04/2013 : 18:09:22
88f (31.1)in the tub is what i aim for to allow for temp spikes when it gets hot
it may take a bit longer to pip but its best to aim lower as you dont want to let the eggs get to hot

best to aim for as high humidity you can
i have 9L rubs and i put cling flim over them to keep the humidity high
my humidity reader never goes below 99%
JodiT Posted - 20/04/2013 : 17:15:43
Thanks! In the incubator I've got the mat stat at 31C and so far humidity is 92% and temp inside the tub is 24.5C bearing in mind I've only had it on for half hour. Does it need to be 100% humidity and 31C inside the tub??
Evolution Morphs Posted - 20/04/2013 : 17:12:41
Congrats :) keep us updated on how many :)
Don't forget to pop the tub in the incubator to get to temp while your
Waiting for her to finish
JodiT Posted - 20/04/2013 : 16:53:51
I officially have eggs!! I haven't taken her off them yet because I'm not sure if she's finished laying.. just making sure the incubator is all good to go now! aaah!!
