Posted - 11/08/2009 : 21:56:20 Sorry
All the hatchlings will look normal (like tilly), but they will carry the gene for albino. Homozygous is when both genes on a locus (a place on the DNA) are the same. Hetrozygous is when they are differant.
The gene for albino is recessive - you need two of them for the snake to be visualy albino.
The hatchlings will be het(rozygous) albino becase they will carry only one of the albino genes (and the other one on that locus will be normal). So the snake will apear normal.
Drawing a small table helps:
A = albino gene
N = normal gene
------A----A--- -- N- -Het---Het- -- ---------- N- -Het---Het-
Each possiblity shows that there is one normal gene and one albino gene. I hope I have expalined it ok.
