Posted - 16/02/2011 : 14:31:11 cheers Bats, it's now things start getting serious from what i've read (eyes are burnt out). He's just having a few days off and this is the first time since i've had him that he's refused food, so his mind is definitely on the job. Just waiting to see any signs of an ovulation. I hope anyway, if not next year it is. |

Posted - 16/02/2011 : 12:31:26 Update:
Well mr Bee is still being cycled through both females and locking every time. He refused his first meal yesterday but has been eating weekly till now so i'm happy. Offering small meals to the females every 10 days. One has stopped feeding but the other is still taking food quite eagerly. I also noticed the one that's still taking food lying inverted the other day. Both have also shed once since breeding. Thats about it just pairing and waiting. |

Posted - 15/01/2011 : 20:58:02 Just an update. Bumblebee shed nicely and ate 2 mice very eagerly. Then one of my females went into shed the one that he shows the interest in. She finished shedding yesterday so i put mr bumblebee back in. Checked on them this morning and they were locked 8:30am. checked again at 1pm, still locked, 7pm still locked, will check just before bed and pull him out if he's finished and give him weeks rest and food. |

So he's a mouse junkie too? Going to try and get Shahi and Surahi on to mouse-jacketed rats in Spring - but your lad seems pretty active on a mousey diet bless him.
Exciting times - envy you!
haha bats your too funny. Yeh not fussed about the males being on mice as it keeps him lean and keen for the ladies. It's when you've got those big females you don't want to be doing multiple feedings just to get the weight in them. he takes 2 breeder mice every 10 days at the moment. |

Posted - 05/01/2011 : 17:28:41 Cheers Martin and Bats you always make me laugh. He's spent a few days in with both my normal girls. I didn't see anything happen with one of the girls which was a bit disappointing but hey. Had him separated off now for a week to feed, which he did so was pleased with that, then again he's never missed a feed so far. mice though he won't touch rats. Just gone into shed now. so when he comes out i'll place him back in. Got everything crossed. |
