If he wants a good home for his girl and to know she's going to be in a breeding programme with another pewter, why not offer what you can afford, with the promise of the option on one of her hatchlings or the rest of her market value paid when she gives you hatchlings to sell? Depends on how good mates you are, and cashflow and stuff, I realise. We used to do this sort of thing in the Siamese cat world - it was known as 'breeding terms.'

Or arrange to take her on loan while he's in the army, with, hopefully, proceeds from hatchlings shared between you?

Brookestar Posted - 06/01/2011 : 23:13:09
i know the rules mate :/ never said i would use my female :D i have a friend with a 1450g pewter which is where i fell in love with them and he cant find a male within his price range (recently got sacked) and so will be breeding with him next if all goes well, male only needs another 350g to be at 900g
reptiledanny Posted - 06/01/2011 : 20:17:47
u wont be able to breed her next year, a rule that people always use is been through 2 winters and weighs more than 1500, so a cb10 will have to wait until 2012, and be up to weight, plus, the female may go off food as well, so will hold her back more. if she is up to weight by next year, shell only just be
Brookestar Posted - 06/01/2011 : 17:43:48
yeah i know mate :D female is at 427g and growing fast :) can believe the price :)

Hiya brookestar, female royals have to be at least 1500g + and on average 3yrs old to be on the safe side for breeding. that way they are carrying enough weight to loose and have the sexual maturity. Your male will be ready earlier, around 600g +

that soul sucker is a really amazing snake, probably the nicest snake ive ever seen but it costs more than my favourite bike AND my favourite car! mental! ine day, when im minted, thats the snake im gunna have lol!
Royalbob Posted - 06/01/2011 : 12:05:04
haha yeh gets more complicated as it's a different gene to a woma but looks the same. It was disscovered by NERD. mix this with a lesser carrying the hidden gene and your on your way to a soul sucker.
Now you can see why they are so expensive.
