Ummm, is black back an actual morph?
Or is it a bit like a reduced pattern, it's still a normal but people use phrases like that to make them sound better?

Some breeders have succesfully proved out there blackbacks, I know daz at titanium reptiles has proved his line as dominant, I'm hoping to have breed palin in the future and see if his stripe is dom/co-dom genetic, only time will tell.

Gotcha, that would make sense. I thought it might be something like that. I saw one a normal possible het black back for sale on preloved and I kinda wondered if it was an actual morph, or just a bit of a gimic to try and sell for more money.

it depends, you can get genetic black backs, and can be nice in certain morphs, like the albino, type in white back albino royal python, amazing
and then you can get normals that have hardly any pattern on there backs, so are refered to as black backs, these could be genetic, but you never know, only breeding would tell
