Hi all, Is pastel a co dom gene? I am asking as I have seen some normal het pastels and just wandered if it was possible to be het for pastel or co-dom and get 50/50.
I don't want to go out and buy one if its not possible to be het for. I am new to royal after breeding corn and know the genes work in different ways in royals.
Thanks in advance

Hi there a Pastel is a basic morph which was found in the wild. it's genetics are Co-dominant. You cannot get het for pastel it is either a pastel or it isn't.
If you breed a Pastel to a normal you will get on average 50% Pastels and 50% Normals. Just normals no hets. If you breed a Pastel to a Pastel you will on average
produce 25% Super Pastels, 50% Pastels, 25% Normals.
Hope that helps.
