At the moment I'm using a normal Exo Terra night red bulb, but thought infrared may be better as there would be less visible light. However I cannot find any with a bayonet fitting.
Does anyone know where sells these, or should I just buy a screw light fitting and have done? |

| The red bulbs are good, the light is much dimmer than a white bulb so it can stay on all the time. I'm using a b1me stat which drops the temperature slightly at night so the bulb is even dimmer then but it still provides enough light to see her by if she comes out. I've not tried one of the infra red ones yet, but I want to get another bulb in as a spare and thought I might try an infra red next time. |

Ah, thanks Lee I didn't think of that. 
Paulusworm: I did some reading before deciding on a stat and both Microclimate and Habistat got good reviews. The magic eye thing works well, the only problem I had was that the instructions are not clear: you use one dial to set the temperature, and the other to set the amount you want it to drop by when it gets dark.
I used a digital thermometer to get the initial temp right and set it to drop by 7c at night, and it seems to work really well. They also have the b1 which is a dimmer stat but without the night drop feature. |

Habistat are generally good, is the b1me the dimmer with magic eye or pulse? either would be fine for the Hoff  |
