Hi,

With the season change my temps seem to be all over the place. Id quite like to know what you guys like to use as heating for your Royals - Mat, Bulb, Ceramic or combination??

I have a heat mat and a low wattage bulb on dimmer stat - but the light is off all day as the viv is getting to hot. I want a day and night cycle really, as theres no natural light where they are placed.

Any advice??

Thanks kay.

my royal is heated by ceramic, that's my prefered choice of heating these days- it seems much easier to maintain the right temperature.

I'm using a 100w Euro Rep red night bulb with an MC b1me dimming stat and it's consistently giving me 31c by day dropping to 27c at night.

I'm with Lee and Chris, a red heat bulb for me.

Heat Mat's aren't ideal for a growing Royal, they're ok when young, but not as they get heavier unfortunately.

Ok thanks for the advice. Can I ask though, why a red bulb? Does it just disturb them less? Thanks.
