Hi,
With the season change my temps seem to be all over the place. Id quite like to know what you guys like to use as heating for your Royals - Mat, Bulb, Ceramic or combination??
I have a heat mat and a low wattage bulb on dimmer stat - but the light is off all day as the viv is getting to hot. I want a day and night cycle really, as theres no natural light where they are placed.
Any advice??
Thanks kay. |

my royal is heated by ceramic, that's my prefered choice of heating these days- it seems much easier to maintain the right temperature.

I'm using a 100w Euro Rep red night bulb with an MC b1me dimming stat and it's consistently giving me 31c by day dropping to 27c at night. |

I'm with Lee and Chris, a red heat bulb for me.
Heat Mat's aren't ideal for a growing Royal, they're ok when young, but not as they get heavier unfortunately. |

Ok thanks for the advice. Can I ask though, why a red bulb? Does it just disturb them less? Thanks. |
