normally i feed my royal in a separate box, but for the last two feeds i have just held him in one hand and had the mouse in the other, is this ok, he wasn't striking when he was in the box for the last few feeds, but has struck both times when i have feed him in my hands, maybe he feels safer i dont know?
main concern here is that if i continue to feed him in my hands which i really like doing, will he start to associate me with feed so if im just handling him could he start trying to bite me, or dont pythons have that level off intelligence, ie it doesnt matter where the food is if they are hungry and its there they will take it, if not then they wont go into their "feed mode"?

Its definalty possible that it will start to associate your hand with a meal. |

The snake would only do it regularly if it wasnt being handled. |

it's great that he feels safe enough being held that he'll feed there, but could you manage that when he's an adult..........? |

just feed in the viv? He might not like being removed from his enclosure, but feels safer with you |

your right GP and also royals sight is not the best, if they go for heat your arm could well be chewed up a bit...especially as it might well smell of a nice dinner... |
