well my net went down, so i decided to actually pay some attention to my snakes instead ROFL ;) got a proper hissing at from athena last night, she sounded like a cat AND i did an extremely stupid (and potentially dangerous) thing last night :( Athena's heat mat was stuck on 28*c for some reason (i think the stat may have bust- i am testing it as i type grrr >.< )so last night i unplugged it all from the extension lead and plugged it all back into the wall (in case it was the extension lead that was knackered). when i went to bed i noticed the temp was up at 45*c so i altered the dial and went to bed... got up and it was at 46.6*c!!!!!!!! i'd only plugged the mat into the wall, and the stat into itself . how cross with myself am i? |

something similar happened to me with Kaz,
hence i was wanting a stat as mine was dodgy, so i borrowed Quetzas one as she has the dimmer as well. and it was ok after that... |

You need those thermometers that I use that set an alarm off over a set temperature. |

They are a bit more expensive, but well worth it in my opinion. |

First thing I do is take those suction pads off, I reckon they made a slight difference to the reading. |

I do, but perhaps its just me being paranoid, I lie my probes on the substrate anyway so I have no need for them. |
