I keep my probe for my stats in my warm hides (on top of the substrate) and have noticed that when the snake goes in to warm up and lays on the probe, the temp drops by about 4-5*(digital thermometer sensor is wraped around the probe) cos of the snakes lower body temp and causes the stat kick in to overdrive to heat it up again to get to the set temp. when really it is the correct temp. I have now moved the probe to under the news paper to try and cause a little sheild type thing for the probe but there is still a drop.
do any of you guys have the same probs, if so how did you over come it???
(sorry to waffle on) |

hadn't really thought much about it but i have noticed it, more with Marilyn, and especially when she tips over her water bowl (an allegedly untip-able dog water bowl!) |
