really confused bout wot substrate to use! Ella is 5 months old (and totally beautiful!) she is on orchid bark at the mo. she strike feeds but sometimes we do leave her feed in there on card board. we have kitchen roll on the bottom with the bark on top of that. should we carry on with that or change something? ALSO....she has had 2 fuzzys and 1 rat pup over 2 wks and she hasnt pooed, is this normal??

mine poops every month or so, so dont worry about that.

as for substrate it really is a case of wot ever you prefere...normal choices are aspen, bark, beech chips or just plain old news paper.

im using beech chips with news paper over the top at the moment cos she would feed out of her viv, so covered it with newspaper and left the rat wit her in the viv.

the orchid bark is particularly good for maintaining higher humidity, i use if for Queenie, and he poos every month or so - it's not unusual - and the wee is usually in the form of a whitish ball of solid urates - don't worry about that either!
