I am looking at doing another viv build, this time for nyo, and was pondering on the idea of using a Microclimate ahs heater. Doe's anyone here use them or know what they're like. Thanks Scott.

I have heard that you have to get a special guard for them as the guard that comes with them is insufficient.

I have heard it has it's own guard and therefore nothing extra needed.

If anyone has any experiance with these I'd be interested to hear because I'm considering them.

I remember reading on RFUK that the guards on the actual AHS heaters can get very hot and a larger guard was required, will see if I can find more info.

I was just on there hence the post on here, so I'll keep looking too.

I was thinking that the guard was so close to the heater that it must get hot.

alternatives to maybe look into for heating and price comparisons are
Reptile Radiators http://www.eurorep.net/habistat/reptileradiator.pdf
and Aztec cassettes http://www.aztecpetheating.co.uk/products.php

Dumerils boas, BCO hybrids, Sinder Hypo boas, cornsnakes, ratsnakes, Day Geckos
