probaly killed it to stop it annoying her.

i would leave it in there and turn the lights off. mine sometimes does that and goes into her hide. 10 mins later out pops her head and she eats it.

when stardust didnt feed i would put it in overnight - smells by morning im afraid - and for the record stardust has never eaten anything thats been left overnight (might be her) she has to have struck and killed it.

scenario - stardust in hide - facing the basking light (light on) it gets brighter when you open the viv as it is on a thermal dimmer - offered the mouse to her and she couldnt get a fix on it cos it was to bright (pythons smell their food out more than eyesight) so she struck and bit it in the 'middle ' of the mouse instead of the head. therefore she could not find the head and hence not swallow the mouse head first. she lost interest and gave up -

now i feed her just after the light goes off in the viv (8pm) and use a backlight in the room for enough light for me to see.

also - she does not like an audience when feeding - i get away with it on my own as i am quiet and just watch from a distance - but if the kids were their then she wouldnt eat (this has got better with time)
third - is the food type to big ????

stardust took 7 weeks to feed when i got her - and as everyone here knows - i tried everything lol - but now she is like a bull in a china shop out of her hide and will take her food within 5-10 seconds of offering it
