Juju has turned down his food for the first time ever!! He normally always strikes it (missing most of the time) and even eats in the blue, but last night he just wasnt interested. Knowing what Royals are like I am not concerned, although it is a bit annoying because I thought I was onto a winner.
So my question is, has anyone got a royal that hasnt missed a feed, or are they all a bit rubbish every now and then? lol. |

My pin eats like a pig every week :) Might not eat for a week here and there. But has never stopped eating for months on end.
Will strike feed all the time, when he don't seem interested i leave the rat in the rub.And he eats it like that.Or i leave the rat in the rub,hold/rest his head on the side of the feeding rub.And he slides in and eats it.
I have more problems with my corn not eating for months each year, then anything else. |

Most of them seem to be very good whilst young but once they hit maturity it will all change, its what they do. |

I've only got one Royal who has never missed a feed. My 11 month old 'normal'. He has the most amazing feeding response and would probably eat every day if I'd let him! lol |

Duke is a great feeder if you do it right, slightest fuss though and he will miss, poop due he will miss, shed due he will miss oh and he fasts over winter. Ok great feeder is an exaggeration but he eats when he feels like it. |

Mine has never missed a feed before, he is a year and a half now. He normally pounces straight for the rat, occasionally missing with a couple of eager strikes but gets it eventually. Then the other day nothing, just totally uninterested. It is weird how they just stop like that. |

Believe it or not, I have a 2-year-old normal who has not missed a feed...
Now, here's the interesting part. That same royal had to be assist-fed for 3 months after she was born because she refused to eat. We didn't think she would survive. Once she struck on her own, she has not missed a feed since! Even when blue. |
