So my little pinstripe is about 2 and a half years old now, she's weighing in at about 300g which is veery tiny. I'm starting to think that maybe she just won't ever get to a safe breeding weight, maybe breeding isn't meant for all snakes.

What do you guys reckon?

She's not unhealthy she does eat on a semi-regular basis, she never fasts for a worrying amount of time but she's just not a feeding snake, she'll normally eat once a month or once every two months.

I reckon some were just meant to be small and not able to have babies. Same as with us, some just aren't able to have children.

Maybe mate. In the wild she'd probably not have made it.

Doesnt sound like she'll be reaching breeding weight. However, as long as she's healthy and happy she'll just have to be your little cutiepie.

Don't give up. :) My Isis was a late bloomer. She would only eat live white mice for so long and never, ever seemed to gain weight. She stayed small for the first year and a half, then she started to put on a little weight here and there. One day, out of the blue, she started eating frozen/thawed mice...and then to my absolute delight, I tried a frozen/thawed rat and she slammed it down. Now she's picking up weight continuously and is doing great. :D I think once they reach that stage of: I need food and I need it NOW! they really kick in to growing. It's just getting to that point that is the frustrating part, lol. Best of luck with her!

Jenn.
