As some of you may be aware we had to make some decisions regarding our boas as since they have got bigger and more confident they moved around alot more which in turn terrified our little staffy . unfortunately our house isnt big enough to move the vivs upstairs where the dog doesnt go so sadly the boas were rehomed and in turn we have gained hognoses and another suprise edition which can fit in the bedroom in a rack which we are planning in the next few months . our plan was to get into boa breeding next year so insead invested some money into hognose breeding which we can do this year/ early next year . we did a 400 mile round trip on wednesday to pick up a trio of adult hogs and also a little irian jaya carpet python managed to sneak his way back to the midlands too! I love how much character these hogs have all of them or totally different in character and all have their qwirks!
First up is the male of the group who we named Romeo as hes the stud! He is a little bi polar to be honest , one min chilled the next has a hissy fit and tries to intimidate!
This is Eris , who was named after the goddess of destruction , as no matter how nice her rub is , she totally trashes it within minutes , shes possibly my fave out of the three !
Next is big Edith , shes still the shyest despite being the biggest!
This is the little maddam we had before the big kids arrived , This is Eva
This is the final hoggie to be added , Ruben the annaconda male , only one pic of him as he was due a feed!
And lastely this is Xdrai the Irian jaya carpet python , we had been looking into these for awhile but didnt kno which type of carpet to get , and when we picked up some of the adults the guy had 4 babies and as soon as we held this one we knew , and it was my other half who said she wanted him . Hes a sweetie only bit sarah at the breeders and is just brilliant !

Thanks guys ! yes edith is about 410 grams , so definately a big girl . she was on large mice but having spoken to a few hoggie breeders and we are going to keep her on medium and keep her in good condition . They are all brilliant , however my fave is Eris as shes such a trouble maker and constantly trashes her rub , shes also the most chilled when it comes to handling ! |
