A healthy Royal will have nice bright clean eyes, smooth skin, clean belly scales and have a nice chunky body but not lumpy, lumpy is overweight. They will be free of mites, and not have any mucus (or blowing bubbles) around their mouth or nostrils. Bigger Royals can sometimes be heard breathing but they should not be wheezing, clicking/sneezing.

This is Duke my big lad 1.5kg of healthy snake

When they shed you wont see any tell tale signs until the process starts. The first stage is their belly goes cloudy and pink. Next they go 'blue' a term used to describe when the skin secretes a milky liquid under the layer of skin they will be shedding away.

Next it all clears, then a few days to 2 weeks later the skin will come away. They normally cimb out of it all in one go.

The important thing is when you notice the first stages of shedding increase humidity to help with the shed.
