Hi folks....Stopped by Pagan's viv thismorning before flying off to work, just to check he hadnt emptied his water bowl. The red light was static on the thermostat, which I thought was odd, so I checked on the temp (which was way down). Panic set in and I took out the bulb and screwed in a green basking light, which immediately turned the viv into a disco!!!!!! so at least I knew the thermostat was not faulty. Needless to say, I removed the green bulb (fearing gatecrashers) and rushed off to work, stopping en route to buy a new ceramic, which I now thankfully in situ and working nicely, with the temps being back up to par. I only fitted the dead ceramic about two or three months ago and it was bought as new. I was under the impression they lasted a few years. Do you think the pulse thermostats wear them out quicker than the static on/off stats,? Unfortunately, I threw the original's box away or I would return it. |

They can sometimes blow quickly, others will last forever and a week. Its luck of the draw. I actually use Komodo ceramics too, they seem quite reliable. Always a good idea to have a spare just in case. |
