i wouldnt mnd but she is so little im quite worried, im wondering if its anything to do with the humidity levels, they have dropped considerably sometimes as low as 30's it doesnt seem to matter what i do i cant keep them up to 50 at all!!!!!!
quite worried now as i dont want her be losing weight, she has dropped 30 grams already

the humidity problem might be down to the fact its winter and your heating is drying the air in the house you could get a large bowl or bucket of water and place next to radiator in the snake room to increase the rooms humidity or if funds allow buy a humidifier

ive got a humidifier running right next to the viv, might just need to get a bigger one,
thanks for that, i hadnt thought about the heaters drying the ambient air in the room, will pop a bowl of water under the radiator too.#
feel a bit better now x

You could place a damp flannel on top of his hide, and just spray it once day.

He might be better off in a rub a 3ft viv is on big side for a baby or see if you can pack it out with more hides and foilage. They can be very tempermental lol mine fed every time for months in a 12lr rub then stopped all of a sudden so put her in a 9lr and she struck straight away

the viv has got loads of hides, caves logs greenery and 2 water bowls, a big one and a small one, she hates the rub, she spend her entire time in it rubbing her nose on the lid trying to get out, we tried her and for the entire day right through till we went to bed she was rubbing trying to get out, in fact she seemed really quite distressed by it we even put her favorite hide in there but nope she still rubbed away, eneded up with a somewhat sore nose, om fairly sure the humidity has something to do with it, that and it seems to me that a lot of royals are doing this right now so i assume its a time of year thing, still it is a worry tho, will persivere and if no change i may try a smaller enclosure again but as i said she really didnt like it before, shes well over the 500g mark so not a teeny weeny baby but a baby none the less.

What you measuring the humidity with? Don't think that would put it off food though.

Humidity is most houses will be around 50%+, I would be very surprised if your house was 30% unless you were running some heavy duty dehumidifiers. The position of the hygrometer probe can greatly effect the reading, if its anywhere near the heat source then that dries out the air in its immediate area anyway so will be giving you a false reading. Put it over to the cold side about an inch off the substrate, and without direct line of sight to the heat source. That aside though humidity shouldn't really effect eating unless you are putting so much moisture into the viv its made Matilda ill.

It may be the large vivarium, my Duke is over 4 feet/1.5kg and only just gone into a 3 footer, It might be beneficial to section off a portion of the vivarium to reduce the floor space, it may help. Its quite a common Royal non feeding remedy. Also really she should be handled until you resolve these things, not feeding is a sign of stress (or fasting in adults) so you have to make things more relaxed for her.

welli spoke to our local herpatologist tonight and he gave me some advice with regard to matildas non eating, he said at this time of year regardless of age/sex some pythons fast as they can sense the drop in temperature so they stop eating as they cannot digest their food when its too cold, even though the temps in the viv are normal they know its winter basically so they stop eating so as to avoid illness due to undigested food. So their advise to me is to increase the viv temp by 1-2 degrees and not to offer food for another 2 weeks so that she thinks food is scarce then she may eat it when offered but he said not to worry to much and to call him again after the attempted feeding in 2 weeks if she doesnt take it and he will check her over for me, so im much happier now but am gonna go out tomorrow and buy an 150w ceramic and a snake strip just in case we need to put her in the rub for a while

he also said it will be nothing to do with her enclosure size as she wouldve been having feeding problems from the start if it was due to feeling unsafe in the large enclosure, the only way her enclosure would be the isse is 1. if its too cold/hot 2. has been dramatically moved either in position ir internal decor etc 3. if it was too moist and caused an r.i, 4 and finally if she was stressed there would be other signs, i.e hissing/striking/balling,
