Okay so my male royal is being a bit temperamental when it comes to striking. The first time I fed him, he had a rat and struck and everything was fine. Since that time he's only been eating large mice, won't strike, and I have to leave the mouse in his viv for about 2 hours before he comes out of his hide and eats it.
I've tried 'braining' the mice/rats to make them more appealing but he just doesn't seem to want it. Any suggestions guys? |

some snakes are drop feeders and dont strike often as long as their eating its fine. one of my royals was a drop feeder then after his winter fast he would strike feed everytime, he might surprise you an strike occasionally.
