Okay so my male royal is being a bit temperamental when it comes to striking. The first time I fed him, he had a rat and struck and everything was fine. Since that time he's only been eating large mice, won't strike, and I have to leave the mouse in his viv for about 2 hours before he comes out of his hide and eats it.

I've tried 'braining' the mice/rats to make them more appealing but he just doesn't seem to want it. Any suggestions guys?

some snakes are drop feeders and dont strike often as long as their eating its fine.
one of my royals was a drop feeder then after his winter fast he would strike feed everytime, he might surprise you an strike occasionally.
