I plan on moving Loki into a nice new viv in the new year from his RUB. We are gonna build a stack of vivs (for Loki, the King and eventually another Royal).

I was looking at the Vivexotc Viva range Large?

What heat setups do you guys use? Ceramics? and at what rating 100w or 150w?

I have a pulse stat is this usable or do I need a dimming stat?

Do you the reflective foil tape inbetween the vivs or not?

First thing also needed is a heater guard. any recommendations?

I will not let him have full access straight away probs start him off with half and give him more as he grows.

i don't have the new range of vivexotic but do use the older range.

for heating mine i use 150w ceramic bulbs on pulse stats, i use one stat per viv.

i have 30mm x 30mm battens between the vivs with tin foil between them too,i will be changing this to radiator backing when i move the vivs.

the ceramic bulbs i use are the lucky reptile dark spot ones. im not sure which brand of guard mine are as i buy them from a localish store but they are the longer of the ones they stock

I use a 100w ceramic in my 3ft viv. I got a kit from this guy http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/forums/equipment-classifieds/688006-ceramic-heater-kits-stat-guard.html excellent service and top quality as well. You will need to watch for heat transfer between vivs when using ceramics, the top of our viv gets quite warm to touch.

I use a 150 ir bulb heats very well with dimming stat, there are loads of different bulb guards you can I normally go for one with a hinge so you can change the bulb easily. As long as you pack your viv out with loads of dark places and he can move from one side to the other without feeling to exposed you should be fine.
