As this is my first winter with a snake I was just wandering if it was normal for humidity to drop in the viv? No matter how I try I can't seem to achieve the same humidity as when the warmer weather was here.

As stated above, central heating dries the air in the house. Just a light misting of fresh water from a spray bottle will raise the humidity enough to keep a Royal happy. I do mine once a day and it keeps the humidity between 40% and 50%

In my experience humidity is not a major problem, aslong as the sheds are fine i wouldnt worry. My royals sat at 10-40% most of the time. Just give him a damp hide box when he goes into blue and leave him too it :) he will choose to use it if he needs to.
