I have my stat probe secured to the back of the viv about 6" off the floor and about 6"-8" away from the bulb guard. I use a digital thermometer secured to the hot hide and adjust my stat so I get the temperature I want at the hot hide. I ignore the temperature dial on the stat. |

Anyone found a really good way of securing the stat probe to the back of a viv if its half way up the back? As in, so the snake cant pull it down. |

I don't like using anything that has glue or nails so I use rubber bands. Put a rubber band round the probe wire then push the probe through the whole in the back of the viv. I then put another band around the part of the probe that is inside the viv. Push both band towards each other one band is inside the viv and the other is outside the viv. The probe can not be pulled into the viv or pushed out of the viv. Works really well for me. |

Now I like the sounds of that way of doing it. Although I'm having trouble picturing that in my head, any chance of a pic? I think I'm just being abit thick. |

I think it means when you have the probes in place put a band round them on the inside if the viv right up to the wall then same on the outside so they will be stuck in place |
