Watched a documentary about a guy doing this. He has been slowly increasing his doses of diffident venom for years to become immune. If i remember correctly he milks venomous snakes for a living and survived a bite once so decided he wanted to build up his immunity. He can now take doses that would kill most people and he shook off the effects in a few minutes. Nothing stranger than folk. |

Haven't wated the video but this isn't a unique case, there are a few people who do this. There are now tests being done where volentiers are injected with increasing doses of Snake venom and the results are being taken in. It's being done with Spider venom as well.
In fact an ever more popular cure for a venomous bites, both Snake and Spider, is to actually inject the victim with more of that same venom. I'm not sure on how it works, but I think the idea is to give your body a way to fight it.
It's well documented how other Animals have evolved to cope with toxins and venom and have became immune to them. So it's almost a fact that over time the body is capable of becoming immune to all sorts. It just needs the right amount of time to learn what it's dealing with. So the idea of injecting yourself with what in a normal case might be a leathal dose of venom does seem to do good in that way and could even save your life if you live in certain places around the world.
I think this tecnique is even being tested as a cure for things like Cancer... |
