| Just sorting out my viv ready to move my guy into it. Im having trouble getting it up to temp at the hot end. Digital thermometer is reading 29C directly under the heater on top on the substrate. I've got a 100W ceramic heater and its a typical glass fronted wooden viv which is 3 foot. Now I'm guessing I need a higher wattage heater, what would people recommend? Cheers |

| I think a lot of people use 150watt bulbs so the bulb don't have to work too hard making it last longer lol |

| I'm surprised that does not heat your viv, have another play around with the probes, are you using a pulse stat , should take a few hours to warm up properly. |

I use 100w,Mainly due to the room being so hot :) any other room id have to use a 150w bulb.
If it's only getting to 29c/31c etc etc,Swap it for a 150 watt bulb. |

| Thanks for the replies. Yep it's on a pulsestat, been faffing with the probe position and swapped thermometers around etc, still can't get it any hotter. The room with the vivs in isn't especially warm though, not like some people have their rep rooms. I'll head out and get myself a 150W one tomorrow then, Atleast I'll have a 100W for emergencies. |
