I'm starting to think I will never get baby royals :(
Been breeding my two royals since the beginning of October and since about a montb ago I've had no more locks. And there's been no sign of ovulation.. Except sometimes my girl will lay a certain way and she looks lumpy and her colours have got dostintovely lighter.
In the whole time I've been breeding them I think there's been about 6-8 definite locks.
Have my royals just gone off eachother and not going to give me any babies?? |

Could already be gravid and that's why they aren't getting jiggy anymore :-) im sure if you posted a pic of the female someone could tell you if she looked if she was |

If my males we're not locking with my females and were locking before I'd be thinking the females well on the way :)
Don't give up hope Count down the 30 days after the female has shed And turn on your incubator on after 27 days and wait for the lovely eggs Have your tubs in the incubator warming up ready to place them eggs in there and get cooking :)
Last year I paired up feb and didn't get eggs till July and hatchlings till 9th September |

Thanks guys.. I'm getting a bit impatient I think! I guess I'll just have to wait and see.. and remember that it takes time haha. I think it's because its my first time breeding that I want it to all go perfectly and get a bit nervous haha
I'll look out for her going into shed! |

For the record they only need to get busy once per shed cycle - if she's not shed since the last time they locked then she can still fall gravid. |

im having a similar 'is she, isnt she' kinda situation. been putting the bee in a few times still but cant tell if they arent locking because they arent interested or because he cant pin her anymore because shes put on some size... frustrating much! |

just checked them and they are locked again. now im really confused! do they stop locking when the female is gravid or do they just crack on? they both started feeding again off and on and i was told that that is a sign she isnt... but then iv read elswhere that a female will still eat when pregnant? so confused! |

Yeah pretty much everything you read that could be a sign I can guarantee you that a snake has none done it before - my girl Savina does none of the signs but she still drops eggs! For the record I started breeding the same time you did in October and I'm not expecting eggs just yet. |

I've had some good signs from my girl! She's stopped eating, looks like she's going into shed and I got her out yesterday just to have a general check of how she is doing and the bottom part of her body is really fat and hard and she's been holding it in a hard curved position when I hold her..
What do you guys think? |

Sounding promissing If she ain't already ovulated keep an eye on her 25 days after shed for about 10-15 days after And look for the ovulation :) Or if she's ovulated keep an eye out for eggs Good luck |

She shed today! The countdown begins!
I just got her out to make sure she had a clean shed (which she did) and I'm sure she felt bumpy... Maybe I'm just imagining it. And she's staying in the warm end of the viv.. is this a good sign?
thanks guys! |

Woooo! She was really hard at the end of her body before she shed, and now after she has shed she is less hard more bumpy..
I looked on the Markus Jayne guide and this seems to be a good sign? So can I hope that in about 30ish days I might have eggs? :) |

Okay it's been a month since she shed... Still not eating, laying in awkward positions and not leaving the 'hot' end...
