Does anybody know if any of the "home remedies" are effective or if they're all nonsense?

I would say from the amount of people that have used them with good results they work im treating mine with f10 and nebuliser at the minute which was recommended by my vet too but mine also have antibiotics too i suppose it depends on how bad they have it

My George had an RI and the baytril antibiotic syringes were 6 quid, but the consultation was 50!

some info on the net says to raise temp and humidity, i cant see how high humidity would help tbh

Here's a pic of my GF giving George an injection in his butt

He had a course of injections because he was fasting otherwise you can get oral antibiotics

I'm not sure for definite if its an RI at the min, he's been making a click for noise for a little over a week so i assumed he was going into shed but nothing has happened, I've had a look in his mouth and there's no mucus or inflammation.

Raising the humidity and temps, if early enough help and can prevent RI, raising both even when full blown RI helps as this will allow the mucus to stay runny so as not to clog anything.

Could the popping be anything over than an RI or shedding?

I knew Tig had an infection 'cause, like others have said, I could hear him sneezing loudly, and he'd be breathing with his mouth open sometimes. As bad as Tig got I never saw any mucus, any discharge from his mouth or nose. It was only when he got very ill, before he died, that he got a mouth infection and that was the only time he had anything mucus-y to notice.

His vet gave him steroid injections, baytril medicine and advised I start treating him with F10 with a nebulizer. Which is what I did. Whenever he showed signs of getting worse he'd go see his vet for another injection and top up of baytril if needed.
I treated him twice a day, every day, with his F10-nebulizer treatment.

Although my story didn't end well, I will say that I do believe that the F10 did some good. It noticably calmed his breathing down for him and it would stop looking so difficult for him to do. He didn't sneeze as often nor did he have his caughing fits nearly as often either, which were always a worry.

I belive (and hope) that Tig was a happy boy a lot of the time, dispite everything. He never fasted, always striked, was forever curious and wanting cuddles. So I'd say that without his F10 treatment he probably wouldn't have lasted near as long as he did and he wouldn't have been comfortable or happy.

So as far as the F10-nebulizer home treatment goes, I'd still give it a thumbs up.
And once you've bought a good nebulizer (mine was about fourty quid) then the F10 is pretty cheap. Baytril isn't overly expencive (and you can get it from a 'normal' vet for cheaper). Steroid injections can be a bit pricy. And we all know repti-vet visits aren't cheap... But, for my baby boy, it was still all worth it : )

Just me and my zoo.

This is in one of my corns so i dont know if that makes a difference but theres no open mouth breathing either... The only sign has been the popping noise.

How long has it been popping. My house snake pops for about a week before he sheds. Sounds a bit like a click and a slight head movement.

He's been doing it for about 2 weeks, he normally does it before a shed but surely he can't still be waiting to shed?

Ah a mod now? Congrats :)
