Hey, just wondering what diet people have their crested geckos on. im still in debate. Currently got mine eating lucky reptile tropical fruit jam (which he can take or leave), mushed fresh fruit (his favourite!!), and a few crickets a week. I dust the crickets with calcium and mix some into the other food as well.

Saying this ive only had him a week now so still trying to figure out what is best for him....

Ive read a lot of opinions online and most say that the meal replacement powders like repashys are the best because they give all the nutrients in the perfect balance and there is no need for anything else.
My concerns with MRP's are that apparently the geckos dont grow as quick, and it doesnt seem like a very natural diet!! They wouldnt eat reconstituted food in the wild...

So what do all you crestie owners feed yours on?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not a fan of the meal replacement stuff either, we went out a bought a blender and we just make our geckos smoothies from all the fruit they like, we also add a box of dusted locusts once a week as well :)

Mine have some repashy, some mashed fruit and some crickets or locusts in their enclosure all the time.
My theory is that they have all their needs met and can choose which meal they want.

Mine was on repashy as we couldn't have live at home before we moved and she was tiny so I sent him to stay with my friend till we moved and she put her on live and in 2 months she's gotten so big and bulky in comparison so in my opinion live is best.

Repashy for me, with live food treats. I had real trouble getting Harley to feed on anything but live food as a little one, I gut loaded his food with CGD and assist fed him for almost a year, with splodges of food on his nose. He is still very small for his age but he is healthy and eating just fine now.

Thanks for all the help, think I'm gonna go with repashys in the food dish (coz he doesn't like this tropical jam) then crickets once or twice a week. I like to feed him them in a separate faun so I can keep an eye on what he eats and don't end up with escapees!! And fruit as a treat. My fruit bowl has already got a lot more exciting, it's all mangoes, papayas and stuff. I love eating it as well though so its all good.

Ok checked it out, Harley is coming up to 2 years old and he is 33 Grams, so he is a little on the smaller side of average but nothing at all to worry about.

Though he just unleashed a right poop all down my arm so he may be about 30 Grams now.

I feed Harley the following.

Repashy, 2 days in, 1 day gap.

Fresh fruit once a week, usually very ripe mango or fresh figs.

Once a week a roach or 2, either lobster or dubia.

On the day there is no repashy I spray the viv.

Works for me.

I personally would cut it down a bit to a point where you see her eating her repashy again.
