Oh now that is a dilemma of epic proportions. I can't sing the praises of house snakes enough, they are small but they believe they are anacondas.

I just fancy something a little different that could stay in there as the table has nothing on it next to my bed and the viv is filled with empty rubs . Thought about a house snake as i like the look of them for sure , also thought a leopard gecko , but then thought they are more maintenance than snakes

Yeah how is your tolerance for bugs. They escape out of vivariums, I had crickets turning up all over until I realised they were squeezing out of the gap on the vivarium glass. Harley gets his bugs fed to him by hand now.

Aqua sealing the gaps in the glass in a vivarium may make maintenance and feeding a bit tricky.

How about some bigger Bugs so they don't escape?

There's larger Beatles, like Stags. There's the larger Stick Insects, or Praying Mantids. There's other big and weird things out there. Apparently you can find Wetta for pets? Not sure if that's true though, never looked into it.
Just some ideas, not sure if they'd all be OK in a viv.

I think you can get special runner-things for the glass doors on vivs. You fit it over one edge of one door and it blocks the gap up. They look a bit like those long, trianglular, plastic things you fix paper together with.
And saying that, I think that's what some people use. Probably 'cause they're cheaper and easier to find.

Just me and my zoo.

They don't have to have crickets.
It's possible for them to live on mealworms alone...a lot of owners keep them on mealworms the whole time.
They don't eat fruit and veg at all, purely insects.
Mine have mealworms, locusts and crickets.

They don't take much looking after. Mine is kept on kitchen roll and it's a doddle to change and keep clean. I won't use sand for my lizards because of the risk of impaction.
They need a moist hide all the time but that's no hassle.
Shedding is easy, they shed and eat it. Never had any shedding problems.

They're rather endearing little characters. It's great fun watching them stalk and catch their food. They walk with a swagger which is funny. They come in a huge variety of morphs.

It took me a while to get one but I'm really glad I did and might even get another one if I ever find a spare viv!!
