That is the question. Tony the 7 month old albino refused his meal 10 days ago and we thought he may be coming into shed as his white seemed a little grey looking. A couple of days after he missed his meal his white seemed brighter again so we thought yes he is going to shed. Well we are still waiting. He still won't eat and still no sign of a shed. Life is so much easier when they are dark coloured.

one way to tell if albino's are in shed is when holding them look to see if the scale's are sticking up slightly when their body is curved/balled up

When my albino goes into she'd his belly really goes pink, and the body really dull it really is a noticeable change, this is a Burmese python however but I'm sure it is the same for all albino pythons.

I have a albino house snake and the only way to tell if he is shedding is by his behaviour.

Tonys behavior has changed. For the last two meals he has struck and slightly constricted but then left it. This behavior along with his white looking a little greyish has made us think he is in shed. Its really weird though, he has looked really bright for the last couple of days like he has already shed but their is definitely no shed in there. Strange little boy he is, lol.

Won't do any harm to increase the humidity a bit just in case. Hal gives it away by not eating, he eats everything in Front of him normally, he totally vanishes so I just increase humidity and he reappears with a freshly shed skin a few days later. Duke on the other hand announces his sheds with a loud hiss if I go anywhere near him and he goes grey, all of him, it's spooky looking.

Nothing . So I guess we totally misread everything. He is still not interested in eating just strikes then leaves it. He is still and in his hide most of the day but out and about very active from early evening onwards. As nothing else has changed I am putting it down to the time of year and the fact he is definitely a male, hate it when they do this when still small.
On the plus side we had a complete shed from Nigel, first time since going into the viv so really pleased with that . On the down side he is still not eating .
