Gorgeous Richard, you must be excited and impatient now to collect him. They curl up like that 90% of the time, then unravel like a ribbon when you pick them up :) Congrats he is a stunner! I just love Retics, fantastic snakes with real personality. |

Well he has just had his neonatal shed, so probably a few feeds then collect him, so at a guess a few weeks. I have been waiting since last November so a few more weeks will be nothing.

Im sure ive heard tiger's are supposed to be a lot tamer for some reason. Think I would still try and tap train it or something. |

Most retics are reasonably tame they do have a bad rep for being snappy, I heard the same thing about burms before I got them but one of mine is a monster, but I have hooks, grabbers. Tap training I think is a must for retics they are by far one of the most intelligent and inquisitive snakes I have researched. |

Just for tap training is all.
I have my two in heavily planted (fake) 50L rubs with branches.
Whenever I open up they are in attack mode.
Alot of the time I can't see them either.
Once they feel the hook they noticeably change posture.
I have no doubt in my mind if I went in hands first they would tag me is all.
Awesome snakes though and as you say, so inquisitive. |
